Bodamtam Handmade

Bodamtam generates employment for 4 families in the region of the sierra del mezquital and it is these artisans who are dedicated to the manufacture of the garment that gives color and sight to our bottle, in the course of time it is contemplated to identify each one with a type of crafts for now we have 3 types.

As a result, our bottle is the result of love for the land, patience, work and dedication to have a touch of culture, flavor, aroma and life.

Our product has a Wixarika art accessory and these accessories are made by artisans who are part of the indigenous community of Banks of Calitike, some examples of the different accessories are the following:

The Wixaritari (Huichols) arrived in the Barranca de Bolaños region after the Tepecanos or Tepehuanes arrived. Anthropologists and historians do not agree on the date on which this ethnic group arrived in the region, but the Wixárika themselves recognize in their legends that, when they arrived in their current lands, there was already another ethnic group that inhabited them. There is a place where the Wixaritari and the Tepehuanos lived together, the Tepehuanos call it bodamtam and the Wixaritari Makumekiya what today is known as the mezquital. Currently the Wixaritari (Huichol) are an indigenous people of Mexico, they live in the municipality of El Mezquital in the western Sierra Madre. They are dedicated to agriculture and livestock.

The women and men of the community are also dedicated to designing their clothes and all kinds of accessories in which they reflect their culture and traditions full of colors and shapes, they are the ones who sell us their crafts so we can take them to your hands.
